Park Avenue United Methodist Church

Park Avenue United Methodist church was looking to replace its current sign which was an older changeable letter sign. This required someone to go outside and physically change it every time they had a new message. This was time consuming and not an ideal situation during Minnesota’s harsh winter conditions.

The old sign was also located in an out of the way spot on the church's property which made it hard to see.

Spectrum Sign Systems met with members of the church to understand their needs. The church’s goals were to install a new electronic digital display message center so they could change messages easily and as frequently as they wanted. The digital display had to be easy to use.

They also wanted a lighted sign so that their messages could be seen either day or night, and wanted the sign installed in a new location to make it more easily seen by people passing by.

We came out and conducted a site survey looking for optimal placement of the sign. We took into account site lines, utilities, right of way and city ordinances to come up with the best location to install the sign.

We removed the old sign and replaced it with a 4’-6” x 7’-0” LED illuminated monument sign with a 16mm full color electronic message center. The base was made of brick to match the building. We created a dark bronze aluminum cap with a flat white polycarbonate face with the church's name. This will be illuminated at night above the digital display. We also installed 1/4” thick flat cut aluminum address numbers painted satin white on the brick base.

The end result?

A new sign that allows the church to get its messages out to their members and the local community and is easily seen both day and night by anyone passing by. The new digital display message center provided a high tech solution that is easy to use.
