Mendota Heights - Interior Logo

Ellie Mental Health provides comprehensive mental health care services for adults, kids, couples, and families.. Ellie recently went through a name change and rebrand and were looking for a partner to help with internal and external signage. Upon the recommendation of their landlord, they reached out to Spectrum Sign Systems.

Prior to the name change, the company was called Ellie Family Services. It wasn’t clear to potential customers what the company offered. With the explosion in mental health needs, they felt a name change would make it easier for customers to understand the services they offered and better position the company for success.

Understanding Ellie's Goals

Spectrum met with the Ellie team to understand their goals and the scope of the project. Because they were looking to rebrand 15 locations around the state, brand consistency and integrity were imperative. They also wanted more lighted signs to increase visibility at night.

Due to our extensive experience with major rebrands, we understood the importance of staying true to their brand.

Having consistent branding across all sign types and locations, reinforces the brand, lets people know what is inside the building and elevates the customer experience.

With a clear understanding of their goals, Spectrum Sign Systems set out to create signs that would accomplish their goals.

The Importance of Site Surveys and City Code Research

The 15 locations were made up of a variety of building types and sizes, from small offices up to multi-tenant buildings. Some buildings were owned while others were leased. The leased locations had to adhere to landlord requirements.

Our dedicated permitting professionals researched the city rules and regulations in each city.

Our site survey crews treated each jobsite as its own project and gathered the following information.

  • Scoped out the best vantage points to maximize visibility
  • Mapped property lines, utilities and right of way locations
  • Took building measurements
  • Color matched walls
  • Measured placement areas
  • Photographed sight lines, close up and distant
  • Photographed building architecture and surrounding buildings
  • Confirmed attachment options

Design

The Spectrum Signs design team took the information gathered in the site surveys and combined it with the city code research and landlord requirements. They used the information to maximize the size, number and types of signs allowed for each location.

Armed with all of the information, they went to work creating designs that would showcase Ellie’s new name and logo, including more lighted signs to increase Ellie’s visibility and brand recognition at night.

The designs included a variety of interior and exterior sign types; large format lighted signs, pylon and monument signs, insert panels, custom interior signs and custom vinyl logos.

Project Management = Hands On Approach

Once designs were approved, the project management team created a master plan that included detailed information for fabrication, installation, logistics and timelines.

Due to multiple locations and the variety of sign types and building installs,, we had to have a hands-on approach to keep things running smoothly.

Our project management team managed every aspect of the project, and kept Ellie updated so that the project finished on time and within budget.

Successful Multi-location Rebrand
