Advent Lutheran was looking for a partner to help them replace their outdated, non-illuminated monument sign.
Spectrum Sign Systems met with members of the church to understand their needs. The church’s goals were to install a new LED digital display message center so they could change messages easily and as frequently as they wanted. The digital display software had to be easy to use.
Their current sign was not illuminated so they were also looking to get a lighted sign so their branding and messaging could be seen both day and night. The church had a specific budget set aside for this project.
We came out and conducted a site survey looking at options to help them get the sign they wanted while staying on budget. We took into account site lines, utilities, right of way and city ordinances and came to the conclusion that the best location for visibility was where the existing sign was located.
Site survey came up with a unique solution to stay on budget
Knowing the removal of the existing footing would increase the price, we proposed that they remove the bushes around the old sign so we could place the new monument in front of the existing footing, without having to dig it up.
We removed the existing sign and installed a 4’ 6” x 8 ft LED illuminated monument sign with a 16mm full color LED digital display message center. The base and surround is made of aluminum painted tan. We fabricated an aluminum cap and reveal and painted them the church’s blue to add a touch of color.
Above the message center is a polycarbonate face with the church's name and logo. This will be illuminated at night above the digital display. We also added large address numbers to landmark the property.
Once the sign was installed, additional wood chips and landscaping were added to cover up the old footing. This gave the new monument sign a clean and distraction free area to be viewed from the road.
Project was under budget
The new LED digital display provided a high tech solution that is easy to use and allows the church to get its message out to their members and the local community. It is easily seen both day and night by anyone passing by. Best of all for Advent Lutheran, the project came in under budget.
