It is our pleasure to introduce our newest team member, Brian Kjorstad, Sales Consultant. The focus for us this year is growth and we believe Brian will play an integral part in helping us accomplish that. He has a background in customer service and thrived in a sales role at his last position, we think these skills will be great contributions to our team.
Here's a quick Q & A to get to know Brian a little better.
- Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in New Brighton MN. I graduated from the University of MN Duluth in 2005 where I studied Business with a focus on Marketing. I live in Eden Prairie with my 12 year old twin daughters. I love anything MN Sports and love going to live sporting events. I also love music and going to live concerts (don’t stand behind me). I also like to travel and spend time with my friends and family. I like to be outdoors and go hiking with my friends and kids. I like to exercise as much as possible and like finding new food spots around the cities. I come from the RV industry where I worked for 16.5 years at Hilltop Camper & RV.
- What brings you to Spectrum Signs?
I was looking for a new challenge and for a job that would allow me to spend more time with my daughters on the weekends. I have a passion for sales and interacting with customers, and this opportunity was very exciting to me from the first moment I learned about the opening.
- How has the onboarding process been going?
The onboarding process has been great. Everyone here is very helpful and enjoyable to work and interact with. I look forward to continue learning every day.
- What most interests you about the sign industry?
I went to school for Marketing. The Sales Consultant job here gives me an opportunity to help businesses market their company. I enjoy learning about each customers business and how I can help them drive customers to their business. Ever since I learned about the opportunity I can't help but notice all the different signs everywhere I go and love the variety and creativity that is out there.
- What is your proudest career moment and why?
Exceeding 5 million dollars in sales in 2021 for the first time. This was a big achievement for me as when Covid hit I was very worried about the economy and how it would affect sales in the RV Industry. Little did I know I would have one of my best years in sales, but also hit a sales number that was 5X the amount of my first year.
- What does a typical weekend look like for you?
A lot different than it did before I started here! I can now make it to more of my daughters' soccer games, go golfing with my friends, and sleep in on Saturdays if I want to. My ideal weekend is watching my daughters play soccer, hiking, or catching a live sporting event of concert with my friends and family.
