Canteen One works with customers to provide unique and customized coffee, office snacks, market and vending programs. They recently remodeled an old converted warehouse in the trendy North Loop area for their offices.
When meeting with Canteen One to discuss signage goals, we learned that they wanted to have some fun with the new space to attract both visitors and employees.
Live Moss Feature Wall
For the lobby, they wanted a feature wall that would showcase their logo, but also something different than the typical dimensional letters on the wall. We settled on incorporating a live moss wall with their logo strategically placed on top.
We collaborated with McCaren Designs who built the moss wall and installed that portion of the sign on the wall. We designed a dimensional white acrylic logo and installed it onto the moss wall. The white logo with the bright green moss worked perfectly for Canteen One's branding colors.
Unique 'C' Graphic LED Lighted Sign
Canteen One wanted an illuminated logo sign at the front entrance of the building. We designed a 13 foot LED lighted sign using their signature green. It was mounted on a raceway painted to blend in with the wall background color.
During the design phase, our creative team mocked up a second illuminated sign to further brand the entrance. Canteen One liked it.
They had a C graphic element in their brand guidelines. We suggested using the element on the secondary elevation as it was the perfect spot for a more vertical sign.. They liked the idea of incorporating the C graphic element into the signage.
Working together, we came up with a design that took slices of the C graphic element. We manipulated the design to maximize the remaining square footage so that the whole sign was large enough to illuminate and make it more noticeable.
Interior Signs That Have Flexibility
The interior sign package included name plates, room IDs, ADA signage and privacy film.
They asked for office and room IDs that could be easily changed, so we created signs with slider inserts.
For their game room, we designed a fun game room sign using a font with a nostalgic early video game feel.
Vinyl Film Allows for Private Spaces
Many of the interior spaces, offices and conference rooms, had glass walls. Wanting some privacy, we installed dusted crystal vinyl film throughout the interior.
Conference rooms were coated with privacy film that was applied part way up the walls to allow clear glass on the bottom and at the top. Offices were covered in privacy film from the floor to 6 feet high leaving some clear glass at the top.
Final Outcome
Spectrum Signs provided Canteen One with some unique signage to meet the design of their newly renovated space.
